Although they can be used on gasoline engines, Waterman pumps are normally used for turbocharged motors run on methanol. These engines take between eight to ten 1600cc injectors to supply enough fuel. Electric pumps cannot feed that amount of fuel adequately for long periods of time. This is a very simple task for the Waterman mechanical pump. This is the same pump used on V-8 sprint cars and will last for an entire race season.
